Marcus Hiles, founder & CEO of Western Rim Properties has an impressive collection of premium wines. The calibre of his collection is very high. In 2010 Marcus put over 6500 of his collection into an auction at Sotheby’s in Hong Kong. The estimated worth of the collection was US $3 – 4.7 million. This was only 20% of his complete collection.
The highlight of the collection was Domaine De La Romanee-Conti with 1030 bottles valued at US$1.1 million. It is the largest DRC collection ever offered by Sothebys in Asia. It is made up of Bordeaux and Burgundy Chateaux from the best vintages. These wines have been described as exquisite and delightful. Marcus Hiles has developed a talent for choosing the finest wines. He is as familiar with vineyards along the Gironde and the Cote d’Or as he is with property development and business.
Marcus stores his wines in a temperature controlled cellar. It has an underground stream which humidifies and cools the wines. Absolutely devoted to wines, Marcus has here assembled some of the world’s best for some enthusiastic buyer to savour.
